HOW DOES IT WORK?
It couldn't be easier.. Special cap sensors are mounted inside on onto each tyre valve of the trailer or caravan, and through the use of a signal repeater (usually positioned in the rear of the car), tyre pressures are transmitted wirelessly back to the LCD *monitor mounted in the front of the vehicle in plain view of the driver.
There is currently 1 version available which utilises valve cap type sensors and a choice of kit is available depending on your caravan or trailer being equipped with single axle or twin.
NOTE: A second version will be available in the early part of 2010 which incorporates a sensor built into the tyre valve.

HOW DOES IT ALERT ME?
The system can be set to suit a number of variables and is also capable of monitoring tyre temperature. The information displayed will give a 'real-time' reading of the tyre pressures and should a leak be detected caused by a puncture or valve failure, then the pressure display will reduce as shown on the display and depending on the percentage value that you have set e.g loss of 15%, then this is calculated and when the pressure in the tyre has reduced to this value, the monitor will 'beep' repeatedly and flash and alternative warning colour.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
There is currently no system available on the market to specifically monitor the tyre pressures of your caravan when towing. Vehicle safety has become a high profile subject within the various government departments (DfT, VOSA etc) and having correct tyre pressures also contribute to the reduction of CO₂ emissions.

- Monitoring a loss in pressure can give an early warning which helps to prevent a potentially serious accident
- Monitoring tyre pressures gives you peace of mind that your caravan or trailer tyres are at optimum pressure which will contribute to a safer and more effective towing combination
- Monitoring tyre temperature gives warning of caravan /trailer possibly leading to a seized brake or similar.
- Failure of a tyre can have catastrophic results. Monitoring pressure gives peace of mind that you have the ability to monitor your caravan or trailer
HOW IS IT INSTALLED?
Installation of the TP2 cannot be simpler. The TP2 consists of certain primary parts, valve cap sensors, a signal repeater and a monitor. The sensors replace the dust caps located on each wheel, the monitor, which is self powering, is installed into the cigar socket in the front of the vehicle, and the signal repeater in 99% of installations, need only be mounted in the rear* of your vehicle. This will need a power supply and all the equipment needed to run the system is included in each kit. The whole system can be installed in well under an hour. (based on vehicle equipment and signal test) the system is also easily transferred to another tow vehicle or additional parts can be purchased for such a requirement
